The Sairam Engineering College Student Symposium provides a venue in which students may present their scholarly and creative work. Initiated in 2011, the symposium encourages wide community participation and attendance. It has become an annual event and an important part of the Sairam experience.
This is the 6th national level symposium conducted by the aspiring students of civil engineering. The name of this symposium is derived from a sanskrit word PERLUSTRO meanig "SURVEYING", and the main motto of our symposium is to trigger the technical intellectual present in the student community.
We here in PERLUSTRO 2K16 are exclusively conducting four technical events.Paper Presentation, Technical Quiz, Model Making & an Surprising Event. This symposium is an excellent oppurtunity for all the students to exhibit their technical knowledge and win great prizes and it is a thought provoking event that lets all to learn many things about the current trends in civil engineering.

Civil Engineering is the mother of all branches of Engineering. The principal educational objective of our department is to provide the students with fundamental knowledge and the skills needed to resolve the problems related to construction and maintenance of infrastructure in harmony with the society and environment.It is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.
Department of Civil Engineering was established in the academic year 2007-2008 with an intake of 60.Subsequently, the intake was increased to 120 in the year 2010.The department has 21highly qualified faculty members and 5non-teaching staff members. The department is equipped with fully established laboratories such as Soil Engineering Laboratory, Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Survey Laboratory, CADD Lab, Fluid Mechanics Laboratory and Strength of Materials Laboratory.
